Community Health Nursing

Introduces the student to population-focused care. Em-phasis is placed on health promotion and disease and injury prevention across the lifespan. Interprofessional communication and collaboration, professional stand-ards, cultural sensitivity, and ethical decision making are emphasized. Teaching theories and techniques, tech-nology, environment, health policy, financial resources, and advocating for social justice are integral components. The role of the baccalaureate generalist nurse is reinforced. Three credit hours theory, two credit hours clini-cal. Prerequisites: NSG 331, NSG 335.
