Title III

Increasing Student Success through a Strong Science and Math Foundation

What is a Title III Grant?

A Title III grant is a highly competitive grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Education’s grant program, to help colleges improve academic programs, institutional management and fiscal stability. Title III grants also strengthen and improve the colleges’ self-sufficiency.

Overview

In October of 2006, Baptist College of Health Sciences was awarded a Title III grant by the Department of Education for more than $1 million dollars. The Title III grant will allow us to improve student success through a strong science and math foundation as well as provide course specific instruction for five essential courses – Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Pathophysiology, Algebra and Math for Physics that in the past have had the lowest success rate. The Title III grant strengthens student success by development of a CSI Learning Center with computers, software, books, models, tutoring and workshops to complement and enhance classroom instruction. The grant aids in the College’s fiscal stability, and provide a source of funds for faculty development and equipment.
