Most people take breathing for granted. It's second nature, an involuntary reflex. But for the thousands of individuals who suffer from breathing problems, each breath is a major accomplishment. The Respiratory Therapist is involved with helping people breathe better, from those with chronic lung problems, such as asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema, to individuals who experience breathing difficulties as a result of heart attacks, accidents, or premature births.
The respiratory care program at BCHS is fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) through the Council of Accreditation of Respiratory Care (CoARC). Anyone wishing to comment on this program may reach CoARC at
