Outcomes
Upon completion of their course of study, graduates will be able to:
- Read with understanding, synthesize knowledge of the sciences by integrating the concepts of identification, inquiry, analysis, and reasoning, and the ability to communicate clearly the concepts in order to develop the foundation necessary for success in their profession.
- Make oral presentations (verbal and non-verbal) that are clear, accurate, complete, properly organized, and effectively delivered.
- Operate computers to complete projects using the Internet and a variety of software programs including word processing, electronic spreadsheets, electronic presentations, and database management.
- Demonstrate an understanding of religious (faith-based) principles that will inform personal and professional conduct consistent with Christian values and ethics.
- Exhibit mastery of psychological and social concepts and skills that would enable the student to practice competently in a variety of health care settings.
- Be prepared to read, comprehend, analyze, and apply basic arithmetic, algebra, and statistical skills so that they can practice competently in a variety of health care settings and value lifelong learning.
- Compose essays on a given topic following the recommended pattern and recognize the value of the literary masterpieces studied.
- Utilize critical thinking skills.
- Analyze the difference between the clinical and business perspectives of health care delivery and describe their interconnectedness, explain the current U.S. health care system in the context of the historical evolution, explain the role of government on U.S. health care as a function of the two perspectives of health care delivery and the historical evolution of the U.S. health care system, and comprehend the importance of monitoring changes in U.S. health care in relation to the government regulation, and reimbursement policies and the impact these have on stakeholders.
