Health Sciences Library

Health Sciences Library (HSL) is one important part of the Technology and Instructional Resources department at the Baptist College of Health Sciences.

Located on the main campus of the college, the Health Sciences Library provides services and resources to support the information and education needs of the faculty and students of the College. Students in clinicals at Baptist Memphis are aslo encouraged to use the library at that location. The library also provides selected services such as interlibrary loans and database searching to all other Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation Hospitals.

Baptist College of Heath Sciences offers access to a variety of online search engines to help with your research. Below are links to these search engines and the library catalog.

•   Online College Library Catalog The library offers a web-based catalog of textbook and monograph titles included in the college's collection.
        List of Periodical Holdings
    
•   Extensive Periodical Databases: The library subscribes to many periodical databases that allow students, faculty, and staff to search thousands of periodicals on a wide variety of subjects. Many databases contain full text articles in addition to subject and abstract listings.
   
•   Database Help and Searching: Instruction for performing database searches is provided to groups and to individuals. Searches performed by the librarians are also available for college and hospital healthcare professionals on request.

•   Reference Inquiries: For questions about the collections or other services, contact the professional library staff as the library. We are here to assist you in obtaining the information you need.

 
•   Baptist Hospital - Memphis Library:  The Medical Library of Baptist Hospital- Memphis is available for use by faculty and students. Located at 6025 Walnut Grove, the Medical Library is open 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The main number is (901)226-5569 and the librarian can be reached at (901)226-5577.
