Admissions Criteria for Medical Laboratory Sciences

The Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) applicant must:

  1. Earn 68 hours of approved college credit earned from a regionally accredited college/university; including 32 hours of natural science and chemistry courses with labs prior to enrolling in MLS professional courses.
  2. Earn a cumulative grade point average of 2.70 on a 4.0 scale on all college work (not just transfer hours accepted) from accredited colleges or universities. MLS applicants must be in good standing and eligible to return to institutions previously attended.
  3. Interview is required for admission into the MLS program.
  4. All applicants whose native tongue is not English must submit a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 550 or above.
  5. Meet all the College General Performance Standards.
  6. Meet the MLS program Essential Functions requirements.
  7. Upon acceptance to the college,
    • Submit a $100.00 non-refundable enrollment fee.
    • Complete a physical examination and submit the student health form provided by Baptist College at orientation. This form requires a list of all previous immunizations.
    • Submit proof of health insurance coverage.
    • Submit a background check prior to registration for classes.
