Unit of Credit
One semester hour is equivalent to 750 minutes of instruction and 1500 minutes of outside preparation. Each lecture hour presupposes a minimum of two hours preparation on the part of the student.

A General Studies laboratory section demonstrates the application of principles discussed in the classroom. Laboratory classes meet for two (2) clock hours for each credit hour (2:1).
An Allied Health or Nursing laboratory section is one in which students apply principles discussed in the classroom and develop skills to be used in the work place. Some activities may include simulated patients. Clinical labs meet for three (3) clock hours for each credit hour (3:1).
