NSG 320 Adult Health I (5.5)

Focuses on the promotion of health, prevention of illness, and the restoration of health during acute and/or chronic physical illnesses related to alterations in cardio-pulmonary function, fluid and electrolyte/acid-base balance, and skin and tissue integrity. The care of adults of all ages and their families is addressed including the preservation of dignity in life and in death. Critical thinking, communication, cross-cultural considerations, therapeutic interventions, and the role of the nurse as provider of care are integral components of this course. Three hours lecture; two and a half hours clinical. Prerequisites: NSG 310, NSG 322.
