Directed Study Courses

A directed study course is defined as a course that may or may not be listed in the Catalog and involves contract negotiation between the faculty and student for outcome achievement. If the student is repeating the course in which they made a "WF", "D", or "F" in the first attempt, he or she will not be permitted to register for a directed study section unless it is approved by his/her advisor, program chair (if applicable), and dean of the division where the course resides.

Process: A directed study course is initiated by a student and approved by a faculty member and the appropriate dean. A student may apply up to six (6) hours in directed study toward graduation. The directed study must be done during a regularly scheduled trimester. It will not appear on the printed class schedule of the College.
