How long are the beds?

Our mattresses are currently all regular twin mattresses. We will let you know if this changes.

Is cable service provided in each room?

Sorry, no cable in the rooms. Cable service is offered in the Residence Hall TV Lounge (room 302). The room has a large screen TV with basic cable channels. TVs are also located in the Student Activities Center (with satellite TV in the Annex) and in the Fitness Center (with basic cable).

Are there internet connections in each room?

Yes. Each residence hall room has two Internet connections separate from the telephone lines. You will need an ethernet card (and cable connections) to access the network. Both PCs and Macs are compatible with our network. For additional information, you can contact the Technology Staff at 901-572-2598. Click here to learn about BCHS's Internet usage policy.

What about the telephones?

Each room is equipped with a telephone line and is assigned a voice mailbox through the campus system. Phones are available, but most residents tend to bring their own. An answering machine is unnecessary due to the campus's own voice mail system.

Are private rooms available?

Students may request a private room on the application; however private rooms are not guaranteed and are awarded as space becomes available- with preference going to current residents.

When will my room assignment and roommate information be sent?

New students to BCHS are assigned a residence hall room during the summer and receive their assignments in late July or early August.

How are hall and roommate assignments made?

Returning students select their rooms during the spring term for the following fall term. Students new to BCHS are assigned a residence hall room during the summer and receive their assignments in late July or early August.

When is the Housing Application Deadline?

At this time there is not one. We do encourage applicants to complete and return an application as soon as possible, as housing space is limited.
