Counseling

Taking care of yourself includes both your physical and emotional health. Personal counseling services are offered by BCHS to assist students in many aspects of your life, including managing stress, adjusting to academic life, relationship issues, and developing problem-solving strategies.

On-Campus Counseling
BCHS has a full-time college counselor to support students with these and other personal and academic concerns, including help with study and test taking skills. The college counselor’s office is located on third floor of the Main Campus building in room 227. In addition to providing one-on-one counseling, we are equipped to provide referrals to other professionals and agencies for additional consultation.

Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments can be made by calling (901) 572-2660.

All counseling sessions are kept strictly confidential.

Other Counseling Resources
In addition, Baptist College is affiliated with CONCERN, a private off-campus counseling agency, where you can get confidential counseling assistance for yourself and members of your household at no charge. CONCERN has multiple locations, as well as day, evening, and weekend appointment times.

CONCERN is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help with emergencies, and can also refer to qualified professionals and support groups best suited to the individual’s needs. Contact CONCERN at (901) 458-4000 for more information, or to schedule an appointment.
