Message from Chair of General Education:
Welcome to General Education! A baccalaureate college education at Baptist College of Health Sciences(Baptist College)does more than just train you in your respective healthcare field. Our General Education requirements help you develop intellectual skills that will enhance your professional, civic, spiritual, and personal life. You will learn how to analyze the world around you from different perspectives, how to communicate your ideas and understand the ideas of others, how to solve problems, and how to apply your knowledge and skills in your chosen profession. In two recent surveys by Hart Research Associates and Northeastern University, up to 93% of employers surveyed indicated that, when they are looking for employees, they value these skills even more than skills specific to their field. At Baptist College of Health Sciences, the traditional student’s General Education consists of 30 credit hours of Core Courses and 4 credit hours of Baptist College Required Courses. These courses support the mission of the College and provide you with a comprehensive foundation to prepare you for your selected major. Please feel free to contact me regarding your General Education Coursework at 901-572-2571 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
