Message from the Dean, Division of Nursing
Nursing is pivotal in improving the health care status of the public while ensuring safe, effective, efficient, and quality care. Nursing, consistently named the most trusted profession, is in evolution and positioned to assume an ever expanding role, especially in light of health care reform. The faculty at Baptist College of Health Sciences is dedicated to providing the quality education that prepares nurses to succeed in today's evolving health care environment.
Baccalaureate nursing education provides the essential knowledge and skills required for the entry-level registered nurse, as well as a sound foundation for graduate study for advanced practice nursing positions, such as nurse practitioners, midwives, and nurse educators. Highly educated nurses are crucial for management of the complex problems in this ever-changing health care environment.
The Baptist College nursing program provides a strong liberal education upon which nursing courses build and the development of critical skills in a diverse array of health care settings. Small class size allows faculty to plan and oversee all aspects of the student's experience. Baptist College is fortunate to be affiliated with a large, respected health care that provides sites for many clinical experiences; however, various other facilities in three states are also used to enhance and expand the student's learning experience.
