Health Care Professional

The criteria stated below are minimum criteria for consideration of an applicant, but in no way guarantee admission. Students who do not meet the minimum criteria by the stated deadlines will not be considered for admission. If applicants have attended or are currently enrolled in another college(s), admission to Baptist Memorial College of Health Sciences is provisional, pending receipt of a final transcript from each college attended, documenting compliance with all admissions criteria.

Health Care Management
Health Care Career Track

Baptist College of Health Sciences encourages educational mobility for licensed, registered or certified health care providers desiring to attain a degree in Health Care Management. The applicant must meet standard admissions criteria (for Admission Materials)for consideration of admission. Once accepted to the College, these health care providers may be awarded validation credits of 27 hours based on previous health care experience.

Registered Nurse RN-BSN
  Completion Program

The RN -BSN applicant must:

  1. graduate from an accredited nursing program with a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale.
  2. have earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale for all college work (not just transfer hours accepted) from a regionally accredited college or university. RN-BSN applicants must be in good standing and eligible to return to any institution previously attended.
  3. hold an active RN license or be eligible to apply for licensure as a registered nurse.
  4. earn a minimum score of 60 on each of the mathematics and reading scales on the Health Occupation Basic Entrance Test (HOBET).
  5. provide three completed Recommendation Forms.
  6. meet all General Performance Standards.

Respiratory Care
RRT-BHS Completion Program

The RRT-BHS applicant must:

  1. graduate from an advanced respiratory care program with a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale.
  2. have earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale for all college work (not just transfer hours accepted) from a regionally accredited college or university. RRT-BHS applicants must be in good standing and eligible to return to any institution previously attended.
  3. hold an active RRT credential and be currently licensed to practice respiratory care.
  4. earn a minimum score of 60 on each of the mathematics and reading scales on the Health Occupation Basic Entrance Test (HOBET).
  5. provide three completed Recommendation Forms.
  6. meet all General Performance Standards.

CRT to RRT-BHS
Completion Program

Baptist College of Health Sciences encourages educational mobility for certified respiratory therapists desiring to attain a Bachelors of Health Sciences Degree. The applicant must meet standard admission criteria (for Admission Materials) for admission. Once accepted to the College, these health care providers may be awarded validation credits of 29 hours based on previous health care experience.
