Career Opportunities

The College’s radiation therapy graduates work in hospital, freestanding clinics, therapy equipment corporations, and research facilities. Graduates may continue their education and enter into specialized programs for such areas as medical dosimetry and medical physics. Graduates possess the knowledge and skill to enter competitive post baccalaureate programs including administration, education, applied health sciences and marketing.

Admissions Requirements

Baptist College of Health Sciences offeres a baccalaureate degree in radiation therapy.  Students who meet the college criteria are selected to the program based on a strong background of math and science, interviews, and clear understanding of the radiation therapy profession.

The Profession

Linear AcceleratorA radiation therapist is responsible for the daily treatment of the patient, working one on one sometimes from six to seven weeks. They work with highly sophisticated radiation producing equipment, which is aimed at the tumors without destroying surrounding normal tissues.
