The Alumni Board of Directors recently reviewed and updated the Baptist College Bylaws. Please take a few minutes to read and provide any input you may have with regard to the Bylaws.

ALUMNI REUNION WEEK-END
The Alumni Reunion week-end was held on Friday, June 6, and Saturday, June 7. Classmates enjoyed dinner on Friday followed by Bean and Bailey, a comedy team from Chattanooga.
On Saturday, a noon luncheon was held at The Westin Hotel with Mr. Stephen Reynolds, president emeritus of Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp., as the guest speaker.
Alumni awards were presented at the luncheon by alumni Stephen Hultgren, nursing class of 2003, and Sarah Rogers, diagnostic medical sonography class of 2004.
The first award presented was the Young Alumni Award which is given to a deserving graduate who has accomplished a great deal within ten years of graduating. Alishia Cox, nuclear medicine technology graduate of 2008, was the recipient of the 2014 Young Alumni Award.
Next the Alumni Service Award was presented to the alumni who has continued to be of service to the College through various ways, demonstrates loyalty and assists in promoting the College to potential students. This year the award went to Phyllis Gates, nursing class of 1954. Mrs. Gates has been a member of the Alumni Board of Directors, consistently gives of her time by attending many events, and is a continued spokesperson for the College.
Last, the 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award was presented to Mrs. Helen Deneka, nursing class of 1949. Mrs. Deneka, at 88 years of age, continues to work full time at Baptist Tipton County. She has been featured in many publications locally and naturally as the "longest working nurse." She is the longest working nurse within the Baptist system and it was determined that within the United States there is one nurse who has worked 7 months longer than Mrs. Deneka. She is an inspiration to many, joyful and continues to love nursing. She is truly an extraordinary individual. More inforamtion on Mrs. Deneka can be found at:
